Yossi Milo Gallery North is featuring the work of Indre Serpytyte from March 8 to April 15 in New York City.

The haunting, dark and powerful photographs of every day items reveal the artist’s feelings towards the mysterious death of her father, a former Lithuanian government minister. Though his death was officially caused by an accident, there is little evidence available regarding his death. Ms. Serpytyte turned to still life photographs to seek answers and to express her sorrow. Her photographs clearly give voice to her father and give his life new meaning.

One of the most poignant is a simple cap. So many different people could have worn that official Lithuanian hat and it tells a thousand stories. This is a haunting exhibit and one can’t helped be moved by her endless search.
