Someone must have really had it out for former Clinton cabinet member Mickey Kantor. In a youtube.com piece, he was set up to look like a racist. It was appalling and very low. Anyone who has known Mickey over the years knows of his passionate commitment and work for civil rights. How low will some people go to smear others?
Rumor has it that my good friends James Johnson and Greg Craig are heading the Vice Presidential search for Senator Obama. I can't think of two finer human beings to head that effort. My guess is that soon everyone that the two of them visit will be considered a possible Vice President for Obama. I have asked them to come to Turkey Hollow so my rumors could start but haven't heard back!
We have had over 700 tornados this year and we are just entering our biggest tornado months of May and June. There is a fascinating web site to follow this year's record outburst. The interactive site on weatherunderground.com keeps you abreast of daily tornados and even has a section for historical ones.
Former Peace Corps head Sam Brown and Alison Teal have hit the road for one more election. Many of us remember their impressive work on behalf of lower tier Congressional candidates in the last elections. Over the years, Alison has provided some of the best (and funniest!) political commentary from the road in a blog called "Hot Flashes from the Campaign Trail". She has that Will Rogers wit and sharp observations as they replay "Grapes of Wrath" traveling around in their car. Don't bother sending them all the road songs such as "King of the Road" and "On the Road Again" since I think they are justifiably sick of them.

Quoting them: "Last night's results in the North Carolina and Indiana primaries have left Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton out of options. She ran a tough and spirited campaign that will be talked about for a generation. But it's over. "The time has come for Clinton to adopt a gracious and conciliatory tone, end her campaign and endorse Sen. Barack Obama for president."
Britain's Prime Minister Gordon Brown took a real beating in the recent local elections in the United Kingdom. In a far reaching interview on BBC, he reflected on his losses and the future of the Labor Party .

Does appear that the Republican are all lovey-dovey these days. Poor ole Senator McCain had 26% of the voters in North Carolina vote for someone else even though no one is running against him. Seems to me that the Republicans are far from unified.
Speaking of the good ole Senator from Arizona, have you seen this youtube.com spot of his best buddy the Reverend John Haggee from Texas? Seems the good mega-church pastor made comparisons of Catholics to Hitler's work. Now there is a stretch for you. Of course, I am sure the press will spend days discussing this news. Right?
