Over the last fourteen months you have been treated to amazing photographs and stories by Steven Guy in the Turkey Hollow area. Steven came to Turkey Hollow to help me through four surgeries in late 2007 and early 2008. Now that I am back on my feet and my old self, he is moving on at the first of the year to continue his good work and selfless altruism in South Africa. This is one of the most caring and thoughtful men I know and at this Thanksgiving time, I give 'thanks' for his friendship, caring and unconditional love.
Steven will be working with an organization in Cape Town called mothers2mothers. On the right hand side of the blog you will see an ad for them. Just click on it and you will be moved and inspired by this amazing project. How appropriate (but not surprising) that someone like Steven would chose this extraordinary work as his next stage in life. I hope many of you will find it in you to contribute to mothers2mothers this holiday season to honor Steven and his path of caring for others. If you are in Cape Town, I am sure Steven would love to give you a tour of their incredible work.
Finally, while we will miss Steven's photographs from Turkey Hollow, I think I have him convinced to continue contributing to this site from South Africa. Thanks, Steven, from all who have enjoyed your work on this site and from me personally.
