For those New Yorkers who love music, tonight (Tueday) at Riverside Church (490 Riverside Drive) beginning at 7:00PM the world of music says farewell to one of its greats - Odetta. A virtual who's who is slated to perform at the memorial service for the legendary folk blues singer. In fact, it might one of the last times in music history that this program of greats will perform together. The prestigious list includes Pete Seeger, Harry Belafonte, Josh White, Jr., Oscar Brand, Tom Chapin, Wavy Gravy, Sweet Honey Rock, Peter Yarrow and so many more. Joining them will be Maya Angelou and Rudy Dee. To see why Odetta was capable of bringing such a group together, below is a video clip of one of her last performances done from a wheelchair.
