As long as we're dreaming, here's my action list:

1. Accompanied by Michelle & the girls, Mr. & Mrs. Biden, and the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and special guests Frank Kameny, David Mixner, Tracy Thorne, Keith Meinhold, Tanya Domi, and Jose Zuniga, he will go to Congressional Cemetery in SE DC to the grave of Leonard Matlovich, read out loud his epitaph, "When I was in the military they gave me a medal for killing two men and a discharge for loving one," apologize for the DOJ bried defending DADT, announce its withdrawal, sign an executive order to freeze DADT discharges on the spot, announce the name of the gay vet point person representing the White House who will drive repeal in Congress, and, finally, place a wreath on Leonard's grave in honor of him and, as Leonard intended, all gay vets. Everyone will then move to an appropriately-sized DC venue where a reception will be held for every LGBT person forced out of the military who wishes to attend. Monday is the 21st anniversary of Leonard's death. Would that be too soon, Mr. President?

2. He & Michelle & the girls and Mr. & Mrs. Biden should hold a reception in the White House Rose Garden for representative gay couples from all the states/cities that have marriage, civil unions, or domestic partnerships. AT which he would apologize for the DOJ brief, announce its withdrawal, and say that individual opinion is no more important than individual freedom; America will always protect freedom of religion but it must never empower religion to dictate to the state anything related to and CIVIL right. He will then introduce the gay couple who will represent the White House in driving repeal of DOMA in Congress and any legislation necessary to grant federal rights and benefits to any kind of legally unioned gay couple. He will announce that his DOJ is filing suit to overturn any state law against marriage equality. He will NOT say ANYTHING about HIS personal religious beliefs or how "marriage" should be defined.

3. He & Michelle & the girls and Mr. & Mrs. Biden, with special guests Judy Shepard, the mother of Gwen Araujo, and the mother's of the two 11-yr. old boys who killed themselves, will hold a memorial service in the White House for the families of all known victims of LGBT hate crimes. He will denounce such crimes and his LGBT representative to drive passage of the hate crimes bill in Congress will be introduced.

4. In a special press conference, he will address what he is doing in relation to any other LGBT-related issues, including introducing his LGBT representative to Congress for passage of T-inclusive ENDA, legislation/policies through the Department of Education to fight LGBT harassment in schools and create age appropriate LGBT-inclusive curricula. Special guests will be LGBTs who have worked in the relevant issue areas.

1. Will he address directly the hideous Department of Justice brief or will he ignore it? ignore it

2. Will he give full benefits to LGBT Federal Employees or will he take out healthcare and retirement? won't specify

3. Will he restate his commitment to seek the full repeal of DOMA and DADT or will there be more vague language about equality and change? yes, he doesn't mind lying

4. Will he once again say marriage is between a man and a woman? probably not

5. Will he include Transgender in the domestic partnership benefits and will they get healthcare? probably won't address either

3. Who will be standing by his side when he signs the memo/executive order? hopefully nobody

My understanding is that this Presidential Memorandum will not have the weight of an Executive Order. Regardless of what the memorandum contains, it will expire at the end of this administration.

I am furious with the President's about face on gay rights issues. Obviously appealing to his sense of decency and humanity will not work. I think the only recourse will be to withhold financial support. He is making a mockery of the issue by his pandering and reversals. And frankly, I am getting really tired of waiting. First its Iraq, then Iran, then the economy, then health care. Yes I know its a lot but hello, that's what Presidents have to deal with. You can't exclude issues you aren't comfortable with or that might cost you votes, under the guise of being too busy with other stuff. I believe it was the President himself who said he could do more than one thing at time (when McCain came scurrying back to Washington to save the economy). The writing was on the wall before he even took office (Rick Warren). He maintained his facade until he no longer needed it. And it seems we just wanted so badly to believe that FINALLY, we would be treated equally, "we was duped"!

I haven't seen the actual brief. Does anyone have the link for it? If it is as bad as everyone has said it was, it makes me wonder what is next.

It was gays and latino's that carried him to victory over Clinton in the primaries. What's next? An anti-immigrant rant that would make Rush Limbaugh jealous?

In his attempt to hold onto the Republican votes, he seems to be forgetting what is important to some of his base

Well David... You're socrecard - Obama gets an "F"

Obama did the LEAST possible. No longer can gay Democrats call gay Republican's "turncoats" and "self-loathing" - lets face it: Neither party will stand up for LGBT rights - We need to FIGHT Republicans and try to bring them to our side and we need to ENSURE Democrats no longer take us for granted.

Its particularly appalling that a man of color continues polices that have the same rationale as those that were used against Blacks in their civil rights sturggle. We need a true primary challenger to Obama. He STINKS! Worse by the day. And his foreign policy and economic policies are even worse! Who would have thought we would miss GW Bush???
