1. Obama will not sign and Executive Order.

2. Lobbying has already failed - there are not enough votes in the Senate and the existing votes are not changeable. In fact, they never have been. That's an illusion perpetrated by Lobbyists.

3. If you need to hold the Defense Budget "hostage" to get a billed passed, don't call it a "victory."

I agree we shouldn't give up on a repeal, although I'd like it if ENDA was the top priority now.

But in any event, I'm not sure that the hand-holding soldiers photo above is really that helpful to the cause . . . We don't see that from straights in uniform, and we won't see it from gays or lesbians in uniform either.

There's a shocker; a total lack of solidarity in the comments about a prescient, totally on-the-money blog post.

It's not at all surprising we are lost in the woods when it comes to our rights. People are concerned about a picture of hand-holding soldiers in a blog post, and are asking why we didn't push Clinton harder 10 years ago.

People: wake up and smell the bullshit. Get out there and do something instead of being nay-sayers. It's tired, and you're only working against your own best interests.

Do what Jordan? Lobby some politicians? The ineffectiveness of lobbying is now becoming obvious to everyone. It is a waste of time, money and hope.

WE can do better. WE must do better.

Expressions of frustration (like some above) shouldn't be dismissed - they should be understood. Only one-out-of-nine LGBT persons participates in our movement. Something must be wrong. And, yeah - that's frustrating.

I agree that the handholding picture is not a good tactic. If I, as a gay man, still find it cause for a turn of my head when i see two men or two women holding hands in public, imagine what negative effect such a sight must have on unsympathetic str8s. In-your-face is not good tactics; stand-your-ground is.
