Hoover -Dustin Lance Black ( Oscar Winner for "Milk") is writing a screenplay on J. Edgar "Mary" Hoover the famous closeted FBI Director. Hoover lived with his 'long time companion' Clyde Tolson for years and they had lunch every Friday at the Mayflower Hotel before heading to the horse races.  They were known for wearing identical white suits to the Del Mar Racetrack.  They are buried next to each other in Washington's Congressional Cemetery.  Guess they can't tell and we certainly can't ask.

-Could we see in the next two to three weeks a series of actions that could see some prominent members of the LGBT community arrested? Hmmmm

-The Human Rights Campaign knows better than to send Kathy Griffin to the Hill to lobby.  Yes, I adore her and love her comedy but her wisecracks on the Hill were out of place and demeaned the seriousness of our cause.  Would we have taken George Carlin to lobby?  What were they thinking?  Give me a break.

-Don't mess with the LGBT community! State Senator Hiram Monserrate (D-Queens), who gained infamy with his betrayal of the LGBT community on the marriage vote in the New York State Senate and for slashing his girlfriends face, was defeated yesterday in a New York special election by a two to one margin. Both "Fight Back" andEmpire State Pride Agenda put significant resources into the race to serve as a warning to other Democrats who might want to betray us - one down and seven more to go in New York!

-Not a good day Tuesday for United States Senator Michael Bennet (D-CO) who lost the vote last night in Colorado's caucuses to former State House Speaker Andrew Romanoff (photograph). Romanoff won 51% to 42% for the incumbent Democrat. This gives Romanoff a needed boost going into the primary election.

-Legendary Mexican singer Paquita La Del Barrio has a heart of 'cold'. According to Towleroad.com, the singer loudly proclaimed that she'd rather see a child die of hunger than to be a child of a gay couple. Que pasa?

-Fantastic video interview on Towleroad.com with Alexi Giannoulias, Democrat running for U.S. Senate in Illinois. If only all our candidates were as good on our issues as this handsome and brilliant young rising star in American politics. Towleroad.com, with interviewer Corey Johnson, continues to amaze with video interviews on the blog.

-For those of you in New York, don't miss the exciting Ron De Jesus Dance Company perform at Joyce SoHo located at 155 Mercer Street for four nights starting April 1st. Legendary dancer Tiger Danz will be among those dancing in this exciting performance. Tickets can be obtained by clicking here.

Alan Cummings -Stage, screen and television star Alan Cumming (photograph)is writing a blog these days. Go to his web site and see his view of the world first hand. Looking at it today, I see he is coming to perform at Feinstein's at the Regency in New York from April 27th to May 1st.

-The citizens of the British Isles are not very optimistic about Afghanistan. In an Angus Reid poll, 58% of Britons think that the government of the war torn country won't be able to operate without international troops by the year 2015!

-You don't find a more 'Democratic" issue than healthcare. If there are Democrats who feel they have to vote with Republicans on this issue than lets primary them! Enough of this nonsense from fringe Democrats! I am not 100% pleased with the current bill but there is no denying that millions of new people will have access to healthcare. We can always go back and continue to expand on a basic bill. Just pass it, for God's sake.

-Over 70% of the people so far in the davidmixner.com poll think Rahm Emanuel is doing a bad job as White House Chief of Staff. to date, it is one of our higher votes. You can still vote on this until Saturday.

-My good friend Chip Arndt from Florida tells me that the Florida LGBT Democratic Caucus has launched a new web site called "Religion and Gays". It is quite the interesting site. Take a look.

Alabam -Speaking of sites, Brian Gilmore from Ranker.com has sent me their "10 Anti-Gay Activists Caught Being Gay." Number one was Alabama Attorney General Troy King (photograph)who was discovered having sex with the local homecoming king. Ranker.com is a fun site.

-Icon newscaster Hank Plante of CBS 5 Eyewitness news in San Francisco is retiring to Palm Springs after covering politics for over 25 years. Wow, the stories he must know! We wish Hank and his partner Roger the best of times.

-One of the personalities that Hank drove nuts was San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom who has announced that he is running for Lt. Governor of California. If the Democrats fail to win the Governorship and Newsom wins, he will become one of the most powerful Democrats in the nation's largest state.

-Good news for Democrats in Connecticut in that Attorney General Richard Blumenthal is leading Republican World Wrestling executive Linda McMahon. According to the Quinnipiac Poll, Blumenthal leads McMahon by 61% to 28%.

-According to Rasmussen.com very conservative Republican Pat Toomey has pulled into a 9% point lead over Democratic Senator Arlen Specter in Pennsylvania. If Democrats chose Congressman Sestak (D-PA), Toomey leads shrinks to 5%.

-Another Democratic Senate seat could be in trouble in California. Liberal heroine Senator Barbara Boxer has just a 2% lead over moderate Republican Tom Campbell according to Rasmussen Reports.
