Koz Ion Television has announced that smooth jazz legend Dave Koz will join the new"Emeril Lagasse Show" which premieres on April 18th. The combination variety, celebration and cuisine show will feature Koz as bandleader. This would make Dave Koz the first openly gay bandleader/side kick on a major show.

Dave Koz, who came out in an "Advocate" cover story, is a six time Grammy nominee, multi-platinum artist, radio host, entrepreneur, instrumental music advocate and humanitarian. Recently, Dave received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The famous saxophonist has played with most of the major stars in the recording industry including such legends as Ray Charles, Natalie Cole, Celine Dion, U2 and Rod Stewart.

New Orleans famous chef Emeril Lagasse has 'bammed' his way to the top both in cuisine and as one of America's favorite television personalities. ION Television is finally giving him the show he has dreamed of all his life. The network describes the show:

Every episode of “The Emeril Lagasse Show” will feature a themed-celebration, with the series’ premiere to kick off with a proper “Housewarming Party,” where some of Emeril’s special friends and new neighbors will drop by to welcome him to the neighborhood. Other themes will include “Sports Night,” in which Emeril throws a big tailgater on the set with one of America’s favorite sports heroes; “Now That’s Italian” features a world renowned Italian chef who stops by for an Italian cooking duel with Emeril; “Heartland/Country” celebrates the music and food of our nation’s heartland with one of Nashville’s favorite music stars; “Family Show” welcomes kids and all things family, including Emeril’s son E.J., who cooks up his own signature dish; and “Emeril’s Favorite Things” lets fans get up close and personal with our host.
