Off and on since 1970 the Glastonbury Music Festival has been one of the premiere music events in the world. Situated in the small, spiritually centered hamlet of Worthy Farm in Southwest England, the festival has gone beyond just music to one big happening 'event.' The very first one drew 1,500 fans to the area and they paid $2 to listen to T.Rex as the main act. Last week's festival had in attendance 135,000 fans who paid $300 to listen to U2, B.B. King, Beyonce (photograph above) and dozens of other performers.
The always brilliant Boston.com's Big Picture assembled some magnificent photographs and here are a few for your viewing. Go to their site to see the rest and more importantly obtain the photographer credits.
