-JoeMyGod is reporting that the Major League Soccer team Chicago Fire is teaming up with Equality Illinois not only for an LGBT night (August 4th) but to fight for equality. Hunter Jumper (above), formerly with University of Virginia, is now a star player with the Chicago Fire. Another major breakthrough in professional sports!

-The Republican controlled House of Representatives new Farm Bill would literally stop free lunches for over a quarter of a million poor children.

-Even in the summer doldrums, The Glass House Tavern keeps packing in the celebrities. Seem at the eatery were Matthew Broderick, Michael Urie, Eric McCormack (photograph below), John Lithgow, Tony Winner Christian Borle, Annie Potts, "Breaking Bad" Bryan Cranston and a big birthday party for "End of the Rainbow's" Tracie Bennett!

-Continuing their lack of concern for Americans, Republican Governors might turn down $258 Billion in ObamaCare funds just out of spite. Of course that would leave a total of 9.2 million Americans without insurance.

-In the We Ask America Poll, our President leads Romney by less than 1% in Florida. Now that is one damn close race.

When legendary Andy Griffith died last week, some extreme Conservative bloggers couldn't contain themselves. They were livid that actor supported President Obama and ObamaCare and cut ads for both. From the "Blaze":

-London unveils Europe's highest skyscraper just in time for the Olympics. The completion of the entire exterior of the London Shard was the cause for an amazing light show. London can't seem to stop celebrating!

-The new CEO of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), Chad Griffin, gave a great interview to the Associated Press about his life's journey. We are so fortunate to have his leadership.

-Denver Undersheriff Gary Wilson has launched progressive new policies in the treatment of Transgender inmates. Bravo, Sheriff Wilson!

-New York City has contributed $3 million dollars for the new Bea Arthur residence being built by Ali Forney Center for homeless LGBT youth. The actress left the Center $300,000 in her will.

-Love this quote on Political Wire from the President's campaign official David Axelrod:

-Elizabeth Warren (above) has collected a huge $8.6 million in this fundraising quarter. Almost all of it is from small donations!

-Seems as Angela Merkel's popularity is at an all time high. Being stubborn has the approval of 66% of the German voters.

-You have to catch this 'tough guy' act by Governor Chris Christie who I am guessing just seriously hurt his chances for being the Vice President nominee under Mitt Romney. No one likes a loose cannon that constantly loses his temper.
