A group of GOP Tea Party Republicans have decided they will block disaster relief funds for the victims of Hurricane Sandy unless corresponding cuts are made to social programs. As people struggle to find homes, heal their injured and start life over, the Republican House members think it is the perfect time to hold them hostage for their narrow ideologue battles.

Interestingly when relief funds were pending for disaster relief in Red States like Missouri, Texas, Mississippi or Alabama from the tornados not one of these Republicans suggested a similar arrangement. ThinkProgress.org reports:

"A day after Rep. Scott Garrett (R-NJ) called disaster relief for Hurricane Sandy “wasteful spending,” Reps. Cynthia Lummis (R-WY), Steve King (R-IA), Raul Labrador (R-ID), and Jeff Landry (R-LA), all from the more conservative wing of the House GOP, told The Hill that they will demand offsets for disaster spending
