Every city seeks to have a landmark signature.

New York City seems to have a wealth of them including the Empire State Building, the United Nations, Stature of Liberty, Chrysler Building and now a new super dooper Ferris Wheel on Staten Island. Los Angeles has the buildings around Frank Gehry's Disney Concert Hall and now the effort to turn the area around the Staples Center into their version of Times Square.

Now Phoenix is seeking a landmark edifice that will become its landmark and a huge tourist attraction. Architizer.com has pictures of the proposed Phoenix Observation Tower designed by BIG - Bjarke Ingels Group. The Tower would rise to a height of 430 feet and be located in the downtown area of the state's capitol city.

What do you think about it?
