America Cup Pavilion in Valencia, Spain
In past decades a building was considered a landmark if they had a white spotlight on it. The memorials in Washington, D.C. were considered perfect 'light art'. Even today, our nation's capitol is a delight to tour at night. Paris developed a reputation as the 'City of Lights' and walking along its broad boulevards at night was a real treat. Then with the Chinese economic revolution lighting buildings with colors, art and graphics was taken to entire new level.
Architizer.com has picked ten really good examples of architecture enhanced by light. You can see them all by clicking here. These are my favorites:
Center for Energy and Technology in Ningho, China
Ars Electronica Center in Linz, Austria
