The Constitution of the United States requires that the President be sworn into office on January 20th every four years. As a result, President Obama officially took the oath of office yesterday in the Blue Room of the White House. Supreme Court Justice John Roberts administer the oath of office to the President.
At the Vice Presidential residence, Vice President Joe Biden was officially sworn-in by Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor earlier in the day. Here are photographs from both events.
