Count me among the folks who love train travel. Taking the Acela Express between New York City and Washington is a far better option than taking the shuttle from any of the airports You not only have the wonderful ability to move around, no security lines and food but also you get to enjoy the train stations.
Union Station in Washington, D.C. is a pure delight with tons of shops, services and restaurants. Recently Conde Nast Traveler did a slide show of some of the most interestingly designed train stations around the world.
