Here is an update of all the latest marriage equality news from around the world.

-The Illinois State Senate voted 34 yes and 21 voted no and passed marriage equality. Illinois is well under way to be the very next state to approve of marriage equality. It now goes to the House where it is expected to pass. The Governor has said he will sign it.

-The Colorado State Senate passed Civil Union legislation by a margin of 21 to 14. It now goes to the Colorado House.

-For some reason, Hawaii's legislature decided not to take up marriage equality this session. The Chair of the Judiciary Committee said 'there wasn't the political will'.

-Pink News reports that Scotland will pass marriage equality before the end of 2013. The Scottish National Party has been in the forefront of pushing for marriage equality. Polls show that 61% of the Scots support marriage equality and only 19% are opposed.

-The French Assembly passed marriage equality by a margin of 100+votes. It now goes to the Upper Chamber for a vote.

-When Great Britain's House of Commons voted for marriage equality, there were interesting votes from the Muslim members of that distinguished House. Seven out of eight Muslim members of the House of Commons voted for marriage equality.

-In Oregon backers of marriage equality are collecting signatures to put marriage equality on the ballot and overturn the previous passed Constitutional Amendment forbidding marriage equality.

-The Pentagon has issued a long list of benefits to extend to same sex partners. They were prohibited by DOMA to offer some benefits. Here is the list of the benefits that will be offered
