Baccarat to most people means little crystal animal figurines, crystal glass or stunning vases. However the luxury brand is moving into the hotel and residence business. The first to open has been in Shanghai with new ones to open in 2014 in New York and Morocco.
The New York will be the epitome of luxury. Architects Skidmore, Owings & Merill have been assisted by interior designer Tony Ingrao. The Baccarat Hotel and Residences will be housed in a 50 story new building that will rise at 53rd Street and Fifth Avenue. Baccarat insists it will be the home of ultra-luxury.
