A fast moving wind driven wildfire in Southern California is threatening six hundred homes this morning. Over 1,500 people have fled their homes and near two dozen structures have been burned to the ground. The 'Silver Fire' is at 0% containment and is spreading quickly. At least three people have been injured including one who is in critical condition with 'head to toes' burns.
The blaze has filled the resort area of Palm Springs with intense smoke and ash. All flights into and out of the city have been canceled. The center of the fire is in the Banning area of Riverside County.
