The floods in Colorado have reached epic proportions and is now being called a 1,000 year flood. Rescues are still taking place and flood waters are raging all the way to the Nebraska border. Cities such as Colorado Spring, Evergreen, Boulder, Commerce City, Lyons, Arvada, Aurora, Ft. Collins and dozens of small towns have suffered massive damage.
Many areas in the canyons have yet to be searched for survivors or dead. So far, authorities say that near 200 people are unaccounted for in the disaster. Four are known dead. Thousands of people have lost their homes and are homeless. Damage is expected to run over a billion dollars.
More rains are expected this evening in the area. The flooding is now taking place along the front range of the Rockies from New Mexico to the Wyoming border.
