The people along the coasts of the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Denmark and Germany will not soon forget Storm Xaver which slammed into Europe this past week. At least a dozen were killed in the brutal weather. In many areas of the coasts of the European nations, it was the highest storm surge since the historic floods of 1953 which killed over 2,000 people.

Wind guest hit 144 mph in the Scottish highlands. The English east coast was particularly hard hit as was Hamburg, Germany. Copenhagen had winds up to 65mph.

Damage is expected to run into the hundreds of millions dollars.

Here are some photographs from storm Xaver.
